One of my favorite moments EVER is when I get to see the photos from my client's weddings. We spend so much together leading up to it - not just talking about the rings, but the planning process, important details, last minute snafus...planning a wedding is a lot, and it's allllll emotional! But then the big day comes, it's always amazing, and there are always stunning photos to prove it - especially when they're taken by Kris at K Lenox Photography
! Brian & Kelsey
got married at Mayfair Farm and holy moly, was it a stunning day
Kelsey emailed me because Brian was having trouble finding a band that he really loved. He wanted a little detail with some texture contrast (a mix of matte and high polish finishes on the same band), but nothing too crazy. We met up one sunny summer afternoon so he could try a few styles on and he quickly found the right fit - our classic flat men's band with a custom beveled edge.
Kelsey's engagement ring style needed some special considerations. It's a beautiful cushion cut aquamarine in a delicate bezel, with a patterned band. The bezel goes all the way down to her finger, creating a silhouette that woun't stack flush with a straight band. She had tried on a few bands and shopped around a bit, but nothing was quite right. To create a neater fit, we build a diamond band with a slight custom curve to it, to let the head of her engagement ring nestle into the wedding band and minimize gapping. We wanted a curve that would nestle well, but not be so strong that it created a 'horseshoe' shape. I took a kajillion measurements of Kelsey's engagement ring, built both bands in CAD so we could get an accurate picture of how they stack, and looked at renders to tweak the curve until it was just what Kelsey was looking for. If you're going to wear a ring every day for the rest of your life, it should be just right!
It's no surprise that their attention to details like the beveled edge and custom curve in their bands translated to their wedding day. It was impeccably curated, absolutely stunning, with tons of little personal details. The venue, the tablescapes, the decor (ummmmmmm custom neon sign?! Yes, please!!!)...everything was perfection!!
Congratulations, Kelsey & Brian!!
